My First Post On The Tropical Plants UK Blog!

Welcome everyone to my blog. I thought it might be a good idea to start posting my experiences (and some pictures when I can!) of my own efforts at growing tropical plants here in the UK.

I definitely do not claim to be an expert as I've only been interested in growing tropical plants for around 5 years now.

I am happy to acknowledge I still have much to learn and there are many plants still on my 'wish list' that I have no experience of growing as yet.

However, if you're just starting out with growing tropical and exotic plants here in the UK, then I'm happy to offer whatever help and advice that I can!

So here goes....

Well, I just thought I'd start with a couple of pictures of my garden right now (bank holiday Friday 18th April 2014).

I have several well established Banana 'groves' of the Hardy Japanese Banana, Musa Basjoo, and they are already growing. They still look a little 'ragged' right now but nearly all of them have new complete 'roller' leaves pushing out, so in another month or so, they should start looking a lot better.

The other picture below is of my own T rex plant that is also now starting to produce new growth (and new shoots that I'll be propagating for sale) for this season. It will be interesting to see how big these get this year!

So, I'll leave you with the pictures and end my first blog post for now...
